This week I propose a dramatic, new approach to reducing the federal debt. But before I do so, I'd like to set the stage:

Please look closely at those five items. We must agree on those principles. If we do not, it will be impossible to agree on an approach to restructuring our budget. So read those items closely. Current Plans: Cowardly and Inadequate

President Obama has placed a freeze on federal government employee salaries. Please! Your salary is frozen... so, your manager promotes you -- perhaps to a new position he just created -- at a new, higher salary. This is kids' stuff. The president's theatrics are, at the very least, disingenuous. In my view, they are dangerously deceptive.

In an interview before the Super Bowl on Sunday, President Obama said that he is proposing to cut $400 billion. That's That's nothing! Absolutely nothing.
