Freedom Month at BBHQ
June 20, 2016

In June, we celebrate the greatest single event in the history of our country...perhaps the history of the world: the birth of freedom.

A BBHQ Insta-Quote:

Voting is no substitute for the eternal vigilance that every friend of freedom must demonstrate towards government. If our freedom is to survive, Americans must become far better informed of the dangers from Washington -- regardless of who wins the presidency.

   ~ James Bovard

During the summer months, we lighten up a bit... a little less content, a little less seriousness.

But June is Freedom Month at BBHQ. And we take that very seriously.

We are proud to highlight our first e-book as a celebration of Freedom:

Cherish and Protect Freedom

The editors of Time magazine asked if our Constitution still matters. “We cannot let the Constitution become an obstacle to the U.S.’s moving into the future with a sensible health care system, a globalized economy, an evolving sense of civil and political rights.” In other words, let’s not let the Constitution get in our way. The Constitution no longer guides us; it obstructs us from doing whatever the federal government sees fit.

This denial of the foundation of our great country represents a clear and present danger to freedom-loving people throughout the world.

It's a "must-have" item:

This is the marvelous sofa handcrafted to recreate one of nature's most magnificent creatures, the majestic hippopotamus. It is the perfect addition to your living room decor. The sofa requires over 400 hours to make, due to the intricate design and the artist's painstaking attention to detail. The sofa seat and backrest are made from supple, tufted full-grain leather while the rest of the hippopotamus is covered in pebbled leather-like polyurethane, simulating the texture and look of the hippopotamus' smooth, hairless skin. This wonderful item provides a reliable place to read or entertain guests while paying tribute to the animal ancient cultures revered for its intrepidity, tenacity, and bravery. (198 lbs.)

I Remember... June 20, 1975:

Every boomer will forever remember the major event of June 20, 1975. It was the release date of a movie that has forever embedded itself on our minds. It was... Jaws.

Jaws cost under $10 million to produce. It has generated over $280 million in revenue... that doesn't include tons of Jaws-related merchandise.

3. It's summertime!!!

Well shut them books and throw 'em away;
say goodbye to a dull school day;
look alive and change your ways.
It's summertime!
Well no more studyin' his-tory;
and no more readin' ge-ography;
and no more dull ge-ometery;
because it's summertime!
That was a 1958 top-40 hit by what one-hit wonder group?

The BBHQ Joke of the Week

It's another "never saw it coming" story:

She's single... she's shapely ...she's beautiful, and she lives right across the street.

I can see her place from my kitchen window.

I watched as she got home from work this evening. I was surprised when she walked across the street, up my driveway and knocked on the door.

I opened the door, she looked at me and said, "I just got home, and I have this strong urge to have a good time, dance, get drunk, and have fun all night. Are you doing anything?"

I smiled broadly and quickly replied, "Nope, I'm free!"

"Great," she said. "Can you watch my dog for me?"

Gees, being a senior citizen really, really, really sucks!

Nope; never saw it coming.

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday!
