A BBHQ Insta-Quote:

Isn't it strange? The same people who laugh at gypsy fortune tellers take economists seriously.

Links here are good only for the week of July 10. After that... is anybody's guess.

Yes; we are a day late this week. The dog ate our homework again. He has a huge appetite.
(Sorry; that's still the best we've got.)

Our Upper this week was inspired by our When the Music was Fun essay.

Just plain goofy... and fun.

And yes; we will leave it up through Tuesday.

This Week with the Chicowitz

The Whole Dam Vacation

The Lake Mead National Recreation Center (named, of course, after the tireless Dr. Meade, in "Gone with the Wind"), offers great camping, fishing, kayaking, and all that stuff. It is a welcome relief after you have blown all your money in Las Vegas.

And then, there's the Hoover Dam. Yep; it attracts over a million visitors every year. You can "experience" the dam by plane, helicopter, or bus; or you can just drive over there yourself and walk around. 'Course, it'll cost you seven bucks to park your car, and another 11 bucks to get into the visitors center and tour the plower plant. Dam!

The BBHQ Trivia Teaser & Subscriber Evaluation
Here are three questions from the BBHQ cloud:

1. First, our current events question: "We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump's action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of 250 degrees, and raining sulphuric acid."
Who the heck said that last week?

Angela Merkel
Al Gore
Stephen Hawking
Joe Biden
Barack Obama
Bill Nye
Hillary Clinton
Joe Scarborough
Rosie O'Donnell
Leonardo Dicaprio
Kim Un
Nancy Pelosi
Chuck Schumer
Pope Francis
Charo
Mr. Wizard
Mr. Ed
the real killer of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman

2.

OK, folks. That's Hershel at the wheel. Trust us; it is. But what make of car is it?

3. We're going to focus on girls' names here in the trivia section... until... until we run out of girls. We have binders full of them.
This was a hit in 1972 by Bread. Perry Como also recorded this beautiful love song.

And ______ was her name,
A not so very ordinary girl or name.
But who's to blame?
For a love that wouldn't bloom
For the hearts that never played in tune.
Like a lovely melody that everyone can sing,
Take away the words that rhyme it doesn't mean a thing.

Who's the girl?

(We are close to running out of girls. Some of you have helped us along. Thanks much. Can you think of any names we have missed? Click reply; help keep this going.)
