A BBHQ Insta-Quote:

Be angry and frustrated that Trump will be our next president, if you will. But be angrier and more frustrated at the elites whose eight-year vacuum created him.

Thank goodness! No politics in our Upper. Today we offer an example of wonderfully creative performance art. Joe Everson sings (pretty well) and does amazing things on canvas.

The Gettysburg Address

Gettysburg, November 19, 1863:

Here was Gettysburg, the bloodiest of American battles, in the bloodiest war of her history. A "great task" remained before the country: carrying the war to victory. "We here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain."

The crowd interrupts with applause as he conjures words that had been hidden inside of so many since their childhood. The applause quiets and Lincoln finishes: "that the nation shall, under God, have a new birth of freedom; and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

The radical aspect of the speech began with Lincoln's assertion that the Declaration of Independence -- and not the Constitution -- was the true expression of the founding fathers' intentions for their new nation. Lincoln's historic address redefined the Civil War as a struggle not just for the Union, but also for the principle of human equality.

Eye Remember... November 14, 1960:

It was on our mind... on November 14, 1960.

Georgia, that is. The career of Ray Charles took off after "Georgia on My Mind" hit #1... on November 14, 1960.

Ray stayed on top for the next 40 years.

And now, a word from our sponsor:

What is it? A brilliant ad for VW.

What's inside the wrapping? Eight pairs of skis, the complete works of Charles Dickens, 98 pounds of frozen spinach, a hutch used by Grover Cleveland, 80 Hollywood High gym sweaters, suit of armor, a full-sized reproduction of the Winged Victory of Samothrace.

See... brilliant!

Yep; it's exactly what it appears to be: a banana holder.

This wonderful item is made of genuine leather, and is designed to allow riders to safely carry and easily access a banana (between your legs).

Who could possibly resist that?

Etsy, $55.00 .

Fifty-five dollars... come on!

The BBHQ Trivia Teaser & Subscriber Evaluation
Here are three questions from the BBHQ cloud:

1. First, our current events question:
Oh, this is just too tempting. Can't resist. Here we go... The director of multi-ethnic student affairs at the University of Michigan is extremely anxious about the concerns of students following the events that transpired last Tuesday.
There was a steady flow of students in the student affairs office on Wednesday. They spent the day sprawled around the center, molding and stretching Play-Doh and drawing in coloring books, as they sought comfort and distraction.

True or False?

Sure; that's what we're paying our tuition for.
No; no; no! Now you're just mocking the poor, emotionally students.

2. Jack Webb, star of radio and television's Dragnet, was so closely associated with the part of Joe Friday that when Webb died in 1982, the Los Angeles Police Department officially retired Friday's badge number.... uh, oh. What was Sergeant Friday's badge number?

3. Finish a line from a strange hit song by Eric Clapton in 1974.
I shot the sheriff, but I didn't

The BBHQ Joke of the Week
After she tripped and hurt herself, my sister filed a lawsuit. While she was being deposed, the opposing attorney asked, "Since your injury, is there anything you cannot do now that you did before the injury?"

"Yes, I can't ride my bicycle anymore," she said.

"And why is that?"

"Because it has a flat tire."

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday.
